Immediacy Support Is Ending, How Could This Affect You?

Alterian / SDL are stopping support of Immediacy in 2015. This could have a significant effect on your website and your business. Your editors may not be able to edit content, you won't be able to develop a responsive website, you won’t be able to take advantage of the latest advances in social media, below is a list of some of the issues you could face when Immediacy's support ends...

1.    YOUR EDITORS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EDIT CONTENT

Without support, even if your website is live, you may no longer be able to access the Immediacy editor or admin. This means that your content will not be able to change. Should your website have a technical support issue, there may be no one available to fix it.

2.    YOU WON’T BE ABLE UPGRADE EXISTING HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

As Alterian / SDL are no longer developing  the software, they are not ensuring compatability with the latest versions of the  software that is imperative to it's operation, including Microsoft SQL, Windows Server and IIS.

3.    YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DEVELOP A RESPONSIVE WEBSITE

30% of web traffic is viewed via mobile devices and this is growing. The existing version of Immediacy is not compatible with the latest versions of HTML5 and CSS3 needed to develop a responsive website.

4.    YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LATEST ADVANCES IN SOCIAL MEDIA

Twitter, Google + and Facebook all constantly update the way that your website can share and interact with them, without a CMS that is still being developed, you won't be able to take advantage of this.

5.     YOUR ORGANISATION COULD GET LEFT BEHIND.

The importance of a responsive website with up-to-date content and social media links cannot be underestimated. If your customers cannot get this from you, they may look elsewhere.
